Hubbell Premise Wiring:  [Back]

The Next Speed in Structured Cabling

Network transmission rates have increased 100 fold in the past five years; from the 10 Mbps and 16 Mbps of 10BASE-T and Token Ring, to the emerging gigabit-per-second standard of 1000BASE-T. Networking equipment has been forced to keep up and more powerful applications taking advantage of the increased processing speed. MPEG2 full-motion video and 3D graphic emulation both require rapid processing speed and large amounts of bandwidth. As more of these technologies are developed, the focus will be on the ability of cabling systems to support them.

Hubbell Premise Wiring has a tadition of producing standards compliant UTP connecting hardware and optical fiber products of the highest quality. As a member of many of the cabling industry's standards bodies, Hubbell helps to shape the standards that govern our industry. Our participation on the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) committees and the ATM Forum permits us to develop products that meet the next generation of standards and network technologies before they are officially adopted.

Copper Systems Jacks

Designed to supass the proposed ISO category 6 specifications, Hubbell's NEXTSPEEDTM 660 channel will provide tansmission performance well beyond these pending requirements. The NEXTSPEEDTM 660 channel, assembled with a choice of approved cables from our warranty partners, will supply a positive ACR up through 300 MHz.

NEXTSPEEDTM HD660 jacks retain the compact HD jack profile and mount into all HPW jack housings. HD660 jacks are available in T568A and T568B wiring, and in six colors. Hubbell's 660 series patch panels utilize an innovative new printed circuit board design to improve transmission performance. P660 panels feature a paired punch-down sequence for easy termination.

Optional cable support bars effectively route cables and provide strain relief on the termination points. 660 series patch panels. Utilizing leading category 6 cable and plugs, and manufactured to exacting specifications, our PC660 cord offering is available in gray. Our testing shows improved channel values when using even- length patch cords.

Hubbell's NEXTSPEEDTM HD660 series jacks and panels have been specially balanced with Hubbell's offering of PC660 patchcords to gain significant channel performance headroom when used together.
