Unique Communications Inc., was established in Windsor in 1961, and through the sixties and seventies grew steadily providing area clients with the latest technology in Intercom, Plant Paging and Security Systems. Unique is an established and financially stable company and has a strong glient base of satisfied customers.

Perhaps the greatest impetus to our Company's growth however, came in 1980, when the Federal Government de-regulated the telephone industry allowing the connection of privately purchased telephone systems to be connected to the telephone lines. Unique had been perparing for this eventuality and, with its extensive client base and trained technicians already in place, was ideally positioned to take full advantage of the change.

A new division, Unique Telephone Company, was formed, which rapidly spread the word to various businesses of the many benefits to be realized through Private ownership of telephone equipment, not the least of which was financial.

The success of the new division and the continued growth in all areas led inevitably to expansion. In 1983, a branch office was established in Sarnia, followed by the opening of another office in London in 1986. From these strategic locations, Unique is able to service all of Southwestern Ontario, with installations beyond Goderich to the north, and to Woodstock and Tillsonburg to the east.

Unique Security Systems was also formed to provide Security Systems for the home and business. Unique uses a ULC approved monitoring station to monitor it's alarms as opposed to an answering service. ULC Monitoring is recommended by insurance companies.

Unique's success in business is based on many variables. Primarily, it is the result of our adherence to certain priorities and principles. We offer the client a system which will serve them well at a fair price and follow through with good service from our trained technical staff after the sale. As well, Unique stocks adequate parts and complete back-up systems for every product they sell.

Unique realized that in order to meet changing needs they must keep current on technological advances, and determine which of these would best meet our clients current and anticipated future needs.
